My name is Scott MacDougall. I live in Kansas City, MO, with my beautiful wife and our two awesome little boys. I am graduate of Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary. I am a Yankee fan, a movie buff, and a connoisseur of good company (roughly translated: I like spending time with friends and family).
But, first and foremost, I am a sinner who has been saved by the glorious grace of God, by the person and work of Jesus Christ, through the drawing and sustaining of the Holy Spirit! In the words of the old Sea Captain turned preacher, “I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see!” I am daily learning to love, believe, and obey God, not because I have it all figured out, but because He first loved me and sent His Son to rescue me from my own rebellion against Him.
I am far from a prolific writer, but I do hope you are encouraged and challenged by what you find here. I have a passion to see God glorified, through the study of His Word, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit. I am convinced that, in the words of David Prior, “We never move on from the cross, only into a more profound understanding of the cross” (‘The Message of 1 Corinthians‘). Discipleship, prayer, study, fellowship, mission, only have life and meaning in light of the cross and empty tomb of Christ!
-Soli Deo Gloria
